Cookie Statement
NedZink is responsible for the optimal functioning of its website. To ensure that the website functions properly, we use techniques, such as cookies, that process personal data.
A cookie is a small text file that is installed on the visitor’s (electronic) device when first visiting a website. The purpose of a cookie is to collect information about someone, the website or statistics. Some cookies also have the purpose of improving the user experience visitors to of the website.
Types of cookies
There are two types of “cookies”: temporary and permanent.
Temporary “cookies” are automatically deleted from your device as soon as you close your internet browser.
Permanent “cookies” remain on your device even after the internet browser you use is closed; they are used by the homepage operator to recognise you when you next visit the website. Home pages and internet servers assign a string to the web browser on which the permanent “cookie” is stored. This way a unique identification of your browser with the help of the “cookie-ID” is possible.
For the most part we use temporary “cookies” that are automatically deleted after the end of our homepage. But we also use permanent “cookies” so we can recognise your internet browser on your next visit to our website. Permanent “cookies” remain on the device that you use to visit the web page until you delete them.
We use “cookies” ourselves to make it easier for visitors or users of our website to navigate our website and to give them the use of certain page functions that would not be available without the use of “cookies”.
“Cookies” do not cause any damage to your computer. By changing the settings of your internet browser, you can ensure you are informed about storing “cookies” on your device. Furthermore, it is possible to configure the internet browser in such a way that the acceptance of individual or, in principle, all “cookies” can be prevented by you. Please note that if you do not accept the “cookies” used by us, the full functionality of our website may be affected.
Processing purposes
There are 5 types of processing purposes:
a. for functional purposes
b. for analytical purposes
c. for advertising purposes
d. for identification
e. for social media sharing options
a. For functional purposes
We use these types of cookies to register and remember your preferences as a visitor. This means you do not have to enter your preferences again and again, making the website easier to use. We always make use of functional cookies. They are necessary for the website to function properly and do not process any personal data other than for the purpose for which these personal data are entered. Non-functional cookies, type b, c, d and e from the above list, process personal data outside your field of vision. This is why we always ask your permission before we place these cookies.
b. For analytical purposes
Using analytical cookies, we collect statistics about the use of the website so we can improve the functionality and effectiveness of it for the benefit of our users. For example, we measure the popularity of certain pages and the click behaviour on our website. The external software that we use for this is mainly Google Analytics. In order to comply with GDPR legislation, we do not share privacy-sensitive data with these external parties.
c. For advertising purposes
We use these types of cookies to help us show relevant advertisements on third-party websites (for example, via the advertising networks of Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and other third parties) to people who may be interested in our products. In addition, we use these cookies to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns. We can also limit the number of times you see an advertisement with these cookies to ensure you do not see the same advertisement all the time. Finally, these types of cookies are also used to help you opt out of our advertisements.
d. For identification
Among other things, we use this type of cookie to identify people after they have interacted with our website. By interaction we mean, for example, filling in a contact form or clicking on a hyperlink in an email that you receive from us. The data we record during such an interaction is never shared with others (including customers of our company). We also use these types of cookies to keep track of which website pages you visit.
We can deduce what your preferences and interests are from the information about your website visits. We use this information to identify potential customers so that we can approach organisations for marketing purposes. For this we collect visitor data, IP address and company data. The data collected by us is only used internally.
e. For social media sharing options
On some web pages, you will find buttons to easily share articles and pages on social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. The functionality of these buttons is based on strings of code (scripts) originating from these social networks themselves. These scripts sometimes also place cookies. We have no control over this.
Blocking and deleting cookies
If you do not want our website to be able to store cookies on your computer, you can make this known in the cookie message you will see when you first visit our website. Have you accepted our cookies already? Then you will no longer see this message and you must delete the cookies yourself (if desired).
You can delete existing cookies, allow or block all cookies, and set preferences for certain websites via your browser settings. You can find more information about this in the Help Section of your Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari browser. For other browsers, consult the browser manufacturer’s documentation.
You can also choose to block the placement of cookies through your browser. Have you blocked all cookies? Our website will then not work so well and you may not be able to use all its functionality. We recommend you only disable unwanted cookies on a selective basis. You can do this in your browser settings.
